The Dadeville Fire Department knows what it takes to be great. The efforts put in for getting there recently proved to pay off. 

The Dadeville Fire Department improved the Insurance Services Office rating from a four to a three as announced during Tuesday’s Dadeville City Council meeting by Dadeville Mayor Chuck Ledbetter. An ISO rating is scored based on how well a local area is covered when it comes to fire fighting, but Dadeville fire chief Scott Atkins outlined how it takes much more to achieve a low rating than one might expect. A rating of one is the best while a rating of 10 is the worst. Atkins said there are over 37,000 fire departments in the nation; only 3,956 have a rating of 3 — the Dadeville Fire Department is now one of those over 3,000.
