Former Tallapoosa County Commission District 4 candidate Shane West was defeated last month in a runoff against District 4 Republican nominee Rod Siggers. But his defeat is not stopping him from staying involved. 

West was the guest speaker at the Lake Martin-Dadeville Area Kiwanis Club meeting last Thursday, and he shared what his campaign experience was like. While running, West said he was hesitant to knock on doors, but knew it needed to be done and did not expect the many warm welcomes he received.
