During his comments, Camp Hill police chief Corey Shaw notified the council of a program known as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement 287(g) program. After completing a 40-hour class and getting certified, officers with two years of experience can become a deputized immigration agent.

“We are not going to harass anybody within the city limits…,” Shaw said. “That is not my prayer. That is not the way I want to do it.”
