Heat advisory, health concerns linger as temperatures continue to soar

Heat indices are expected to approach 110 degrees in some portions of Alabama today and reach at least 100 throughout the state, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The temperature in Alexander City on Tuesday had already reached 92 degrees by 12:35 Tuesday morning and the heat index was at 97. Meanwhile, the heat index hit 101 degrees in Troy before 10 a.m. and climbed to 105 in Troy and Tuscaloosa before day’s end.
