The Southern Preparatory Academy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps reached gold star status, despite the status not being the sole concern of the program.

The Southern Prep JROTC program scored a 96 out of 100 on its JROTC JPA evaluation earning the program gold star or “Honor Unit of Distinction” status. This accomplishment is sometimes referred to as exceptional with only 10% of programs nationwide earning the title.
