First-year head coach J.R. Rodriguez went through the database and the history books, trying to track down when the Southern Prep football team last played a full 11-man season. 

By his calculations, the school was still named Lyman Ward, and it took looking through 40 years of logs to come across something. And now, after almost half a century of waiting, the Rangers are now an official 11-man team.
