Things started off well enough for Southern Preparatory Academy in its football season opener on Friday night. The Rangers even led by a score to open the game.

But that lead quickly diminished as Cornerstone Christian immediately responded in the 8-man game. From there, it was a defensive showdown but with four minutes left in the second quarter, the Chargers exploded for a pair of touchdowns and never looked back in a 44-14 victory.
