The staff at The Journey Detox and Recovery, LLC knows what addiction does to a person. They are familiar with the mental and physical harm it causes and the heartache it brings to loved ones. As a branch inside Lake Martin Community Hospital, the detox and recovery unit is shining light in the lives of those fighting addiction where they once believed it could only be dark.

The Journey Detox and Recovery, LLC takes patients battling alcohol, opiate and narcotic addictions. Program manager Tannia Thrift said the unit will have a patient sleep off marijuana and meth, but does not detox them. Otherwise, a patient stays with the unit for five to seven days while Thrift and intake coordinator Mandy Stroud work hard to keep them comfortable, supported and most importantly, find them a long-term recovery solution.
