Being a foster parent might not be the easiest way to serve the children of Tallapoosa County, but the Tallapoosa County Department of Human Resources is looking for people interested in getting the job done.

The department’s foster care program held a recruitment event on Friday for prospective foster parents to sign an interest form to get started. The department currently has 13 active foster parents, which is down from the 24 it formerly had. Tallapoosa County DHR director TR Amason said the goal is to always have 25 foster parents and there are currently 33 foster children.
