The year was 1999, Phillip Baker was entering his 12th season as the head football coach at Dadeville. Spongebob Squarepants made its debut on television, while the masses flocked to the local theater to watch Star Wars: The Phantom Menace after a 16-year hiatus for the franchise.

It was also the last time the Dadeville football team crossed the Alabama-Georgia state lines to play a football game.  At least, that’s until this Friday.
