Bear Woods named to South All Star coaching staff

Wetumpka football coach Bear Woods has been named to the coaching staff for the annual North-South football team. The South team, which Woods will be assistant of, is led by Eufala High School football coach Jerrell Jernigan. 

This opportunity shines a spotlight on Woods and the Wetumpka football program as a whole, also serving as a learning opportunity for Woods as only a fourth-year head coach. Woods and Jernigan go back years to Troy University when they were teammates, winning four Sun Belt titles together. Jernigan put the staff together and invited Woods on to coach the linebackers – the position he played for his five years of college and seven years of professional football.
