Cliff Williams / TPI The Town of Eclectic Town Council approve using an insurance company to help cover cost of water when a customer has a leak, causing an increased water bill.

Eclectic Water Authority customers now have an option for help when they get a surprise increase in their water bill. At its Monday meeting, the Eclectic Town Council approved an insurance proposal from Tennessee-based ServLine, which is a program discovered through Alabama Rural Water Association.

“ServLine Program protects your utility against losses from customers’ water leaks,” ServLine’s Mark Butler told the council. “When the customer gets an unexpected increase in their water bill, this covers the difference between the bill and the customer’s average bill.”
