dThe year 2002 may be the first official year the Wetumpka Impact Crater was recognized. But it came decades before for geologist Tony Neathery.
The geologist brought his wife, children and others around Wetumpka going back to 1969. Neathery would stop his car, pull out a shovel, a small pick and cloth bag. Minutes to hours later he would come back with a grin and a sack full of rocks.
