Cliff Williams / TPI No Derby Day is complete without a hat. Lacy Rae Heffelfinger of Muscadine Creek Creamery has goat’s milk products in The Shoppes Downtown. She brought a three-week-old Nubian goat dressed with a hat for the occasion.

Rain dampened the spirits of First Friday Linger Longer in downtown Wetumpka. But the rain left downtown Wetumpka early enough Saturday morning to allow for a fun Derby Day. Almost every merchant downtown had something to do with the derby. Staff at Company Street Mercantile were dressed in gowns and hats. Tiers of Sweetness had derby themed sweet treats. Mickey and Minnie were at The Gab. Scent Wizards and others were offering discounts. Coaches Corner and Coosa Clever had the races on television. But the award of the day goes to the three-week-old Nubian goat brought to The Shoppes Downtown by Lacy Rae Heffelfinger of Muscadine Creek Creamery dressed with a hat.
