The Elmore County Commission is hoping to catch the eye of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

USDOT has grant programs to help counties across the county with roads and bridges. At its Monday meeting the commission approved applying for a grant that would resurface significant portions of Rifle Range Road, Friendship Road and Redland Road near Tallassee.
