The Alabama State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance is working to make its 100th anniversary special. Doing so included providing a grant to Elmore County Schools adaptive physical education teacher Jill Burt to aid her students.

“The executive board decided we needed to give something more back to our members,” ASAHPERD past president Connie Dacus said. “So we sent out legacy grant applications with the idea of helping teachers do what they do best, serve students.”
