Cliff Williams / TPI Some Holtville Elementary School students created their own astronaut costumes complete with robotic gear to help celebrate 100 Days and Beyond.

As students celebrated the 100th day of school Friday, they did so by moving around their space station also known as Holtville Elementary School.

The school year started that way with a blast off to space with rockets, planets and galaxies throughout the hallways and classrooms. Many of the LEDs applied to the ceiling of the hallways and in the library are thanks to media specialist Natalie McLemore. Instead of aging the students into elders for this year's 100th day, Friday the students celebrated ‘100 Days and Beyond.’ They dressed as astronauts. Guided planets through galaxies and spaceships through asteroid fields. They created spaceships with paper and stacked 100 cups to create rocket engines.
