Some store fronts in downtown Wetumpka are getting a freshen up thanks to a grant from Main Street Alabama.
In August Main Street Wetumpka was given a $10,000 grant to help Main Street members make their store fronts more appealing. The grant provides business or property owners with up to $1,500 for every dollar the business or property provides.

THE SOUTHERN HALF OF CENTRAL ALABAMA...
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM CST this evening.
* WINDS...Northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 22 percent.
* IMPACTS...The combination of a dry air mass and windy conditions
will result in critical fire weather conditions. Outdoor burning
is not recommended. Current wildfires could worsen due to the
winds.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
