At the December meeting of the Captain William Bibb Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member Jacqueline “Jackie” Earnest received the prestigious DAR Community Service Award.

Through decades of service Earnest has exemplified what it means to live a life of community commitment. She has strengthened schools, enriched her church, uplifted local history, fostered education through scholarships and filled her community with music and fellowship. Earnest played a pivotal role in preparing for Holtville High School’s Centennial (1925-2025), tirelessly researching and collecting artifacts that preserve the school’s legacy. Simultaneously, she worked with the school’s Alumni Association to establish an endowed scholarship, ensuring future generations benefit from the strong tradition of education in her community.
