Valentine's Day is often thought to be the day couples remember each other. But it is also a great chance to remind children they are special too. On Thursday, the Iota Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, a professional sorority for teachers, held the Heart and Hugs Ball for Wetumpka Elementary School students. The students brought their moms, dads and family members for a night of fun, dancing and food complete with cupcakes and a heart themed background for photographs. Funds raised during the event will help fund two scholarships at Auburn University Montgomery for future teachers. Organizers hoped to raise $2,000 to be split between the two scholarships as AUM matches the funds dollar for dollar up to $1,000 per scholarship.
