It is not an easy task to narrow a list of 22 teachers to two for teachers of the year in Elmore County.
The job fell on five retired educators and administrators to follow a rubric set out by the Alabama State Department of Education. After two days of interviews and discussions, the judges selected Airport Road Intermediate’s Deborah Stringfellow and Stanhope Elmore’s Johanna Angelo as elementary and secondary schools teachers of the year, respectively.
