Author revisits his roots in new novel

Local author Del Wither­spoon recently released his latest novel, “Rivers of Hope.” The book is set in Wetumpka, Montgomery and Prattville, along with other locations such as New Orleans.

In the story, a young man and his sweetheart struggle during the years following the Civil War. In their individual challenges, Arthur finds work on an old riverboat and Maggie endures sexual abuse and loneliness. Both continue to treasure their youthful dreams of a life together.
