Deputies get feds’ assistance locating work release escapee, sheriff’s officials report

The U.S. Marshals Service helped Elmore County deputies pinpoint the location of a man who allegedly escaped from a nearby work-release facility at a Wetumpka service station, according to sheriff’s officials.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Michael Deshaun McLeod, 34, was apprehended around 9 p.m. Monday.
