Ground being broken on sports complex expansion

Those who pass by the Wetumpka Sports Complex on Coosa River Parkway should see dirt-moving equipment on the site in the near future. Monday afternoon council members accepted the low bid for mass grading that will be the first step in expansion at the complex.

Tony Smith, project manager with CPM LLC, the company providing management services for the sports complex and MLK Center properties, told the mayor and council that the low bid of $895,000 from Dubose Construction was reviewed carefully and was determined to be valid.
