Incumbent Elmore County District 5 commissioner Desirae Lewis Jackson received 3,008 votes to Jacqueline Long Thomas’ 1,748 votes with one polling location remaining at 8:45 p.m. It’s a district that covers parts of Millbrook, Holtville and Wetumpka.

Jackson said the campaign for reelection showed how unified Elmore County and the Fifth Commission district has become.
