Pinkston retains judge’s seat

As election day neared, the race for the Republican nomination for Elmore County District Judge Place 1 drew the heaviest campaigning. Incumbent Patrick Pinkston defended his bench against challenger Lucie McLemore Tuesday outpolling his opponent by more than 2-to-1.

Pinkston drew 6,632 votes to McLemore’s 2,553. With no Democratic or Constitution Party nominees on the horizon, Pinkston will retain his seat without recourse to the November General Election.
