Auburn achieves program’s first-ever No. 1 national ranking

[Matthew Shannon/AU Athletics] Auburn’s Wendell Green Jr. has helped Auburn out to an 18-1 overall record and a No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press.

For the first time in the 116-year history of Auburn men's basketball, the program has achieved a No. 1 national ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll released on Monday.

The Tigers (18-1, 7-0 SEC) received 45 first-place votes and 1,504 points from the 60-member voting panel comprised of media members across the country. Gonzaga was No. 2 with 15 first-place votes and 1,475 points.
