Dawgs, Mustangs split Opening Day games with Oak Mountain

Holtville scored five runs with two outs, downing county foe Stanhope Elmore, 7-2, to cap the Opening Day round-robin with a win Monday at Furlow Field.

Both the Bulldogs and the Mustangs split their first two games of the 2017 season, with Stanhope coming from behind to beat Oak Mountain, 12-7, to begin the day. The Eagles turned around and held on to defeat HHS, 6-4.
