It’ll be champion versus champion to open the 2015 football season.

With the college football trend of Week 1 marquee games at neutral sites trickling down to high school — more specifically, the Alabama Independent School Association in this case — reigning Class AA state champ Edgewood Academy will face off against Class AAA champion Escambia Academy at Faulkner University in Montgomery Aug. 21, Wildcats head football coach Bobby Carr told the Herald.
