Following a successful season in which Stanhope Elmore made the Class 6A playoffs for the first time in three seasons, and Wetumpka advanced all the way to the Class 6A state championship game, both teams were represented well on the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State team. The Indians and Mustangs each earned one first-team nod, while four Wetumpka players and one from Stanhope were named to the second team.

Wetumpka quarterback JD Martin was chosen on the first team as an athlete after having a big season both on the ground and through the air for the Indians. He also served as the team’s punter.
