Stanhope Elmore guard Kaleb Sanders takes the ball down the court in a Friday afternoon intersquad scrimmage as the Mustangs prepare for the intensity of the basketball season.

The Stanhope Elmore boys basketball team is focused on taking steps in the right direction this season. It finished just over .500 last season, with a 14-13 final overall record which was good enough for a second-place finish in Class 6A Area 4. 

The season did not exactly end on the best note, however. The Mustangs fell to their rivals, the Wetumpka Indians 70-60 at home in the final game of the season.
