Wetumpka bounced back from its defeat in the Elmore County Tournament championship game to knock off Jemison 78-37 in the first round of the Maplesville Christmas Tournament. Junior Tyquan Rawls scored a career-high 41 points and made eight 3-pointers in the victory.

Rawls needed only three quarters to reach 41 points after scoring 25 in the second quarter alone. He made all eight of his 3-pointers in the first half. Freshman Robert Rose was the only other Wetumpka player to reach double figures, scoring 10 points.
