Cliff Williams / TPI Candidates and their supporters lined up outside the Wetumpka Civic Center to greet voters Tuesday as they arrived to cast ballots in the municipal election.

Voters will return to the polls Tuesday, Sept. 23 to decide who will be the next Wetumpka City Council District 1 representative.

After last month’s municipal election, voters cast 184 ballots. Incumbent Kevin Robbins received 87 votes and political newcomer Hunter Mills received 50 and Chris Black saw 47 ballots in his favor. Since no one candidate in the race had 50% plus 1 of the ballots cast, a runoff was declared for Sept. 23 between the top two candidates — Robbins and Mills.
