Self-taught spoon maker from Dothan Orran Scruggs made a stop at the Dadeville Public Library for a spoon making class. The Alabama artist guided participants through a three-phase sanding, optional carving design and oiling of the spoon they can use for tea, coffee or spices. Scruggs not only sells the spoons he creates through his business, but spends his time teaching others how to make and care for wooden utensils.
