After defeating Russell County in the first round, Wetumpka traveled down to Mobile to face St. Paul’s for its second round matchup. Indian coach Stephen Horn was confident his team could rise to the occasion and challenge St. Paul’s for a spot in the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, Wetumpka’s focus faltered and the Indians seemed frazzled by the size of the moment. It ultimately fell, 8-2, marking the end of the season.

“St. Paul’s played really well,” Horn said. “They definitely deserved to win. We didn’t play well; we didn’t coach well; we didn’t prepare well; we didn’t condition well. We didn’t do much of anything well, and that hurt us.”
