A total of 23 minutes were played in the Benjamin Russell season opener against Mae Jemison. 

That was until a loud boom could be heard throughout the stadium, followed by the immediate darkness that covered the field. According to officials and Louis Crews Stadium workers, a breaker near the stadium had blown. And to add insult to injury for the waiting Wildcats and Jaguars, a storm was on the way.
