Calpine’s 230-ton generators that will help power Alexander City are returning to town after being away from the Hillabee energy facility for more than a year.

In the spring of 2003, two generators were taken out of state for use at other Calpine plants; however, they are being returned and after a lengthy trek from the railroad to the energy center on Brick Plant Road, will be put to use.
