Recently released data ranks Tallapoosa County among the last in the state concerning child well being, and the Tallapoosa County Children’s Policy Council is hoping that by working with churches, it can improve that ranking.

Voices for Alabama Children released its 2004 Kids Count Data Book earlier this month. Tallapoosa ranks 44th out of 67 counties for child well being, and in some categories, like juvenile alcohol and drug arrests, the county ranks last in the state.
