Today marks the 67th anniversary of the Japanese Imperial Navy’s sneak attack on Hawaii and the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor. In addition to the hundreds killed in that single attack, the bombings pulled the United States right into the middle of World War II.

Earlier this year, local veterans of World War II and the other American wars of the 20th Century embarked on a pilgrimage to Washington D.C. to visit the World War II monument among other emotional sites.
