Barbara Muenzmay

Barbara Helen (Haug) Muenzmay, age 89, of Palmetto, FL passed away March 5, 2026 at home. Barbara was born on May 14, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, J. Fredrick (Fred) Muenzmay. She is survived by daughters Barbara Sue Cox (Michael) and Joy Swartz, and son Jeffrey Muenzmay; and by grandchildren Nathan and Hannah Cox and Robert Swartz (Katherine).

Barbara and Fred raised their family in Pennsylvania, New York, and then in Florida. They eventually settled in Coosa County, AL in 1989. Barbara and Fred built a new business and a life at Eagle’s Roost Herb Farms in Rockford, AL. Barbara, a Master Gardener, was active in the community and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alexander City and then Trinity United Methodist Church. When spending summers in British Columbia, Canada with family, Barbara also attended Berea Baptist Church in Surrey, BC and enjoyed friendships in that community as well.
