Faye Redding Holliday, 94, died peacefully on March 20, 2026, in Alexander City, AL., surrounded by loved ones. She was a true “Southern Lady” best known for her use, defense of, and teaching proper grammar - and her peanut brittle.

She was born in Clay County, Georgia, to B.B. (Buster) Redding and Edna Hayes Redding on January 6, 1932. After attending public schools in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, the family moved to the “farm” in rural Clay County where she attended Bluffton School. Following the 11th grade, she attended Andrew College, where she was a basketball star. She later moved from Statesboro (Georgia Teacher’s College) to Jeffersonville, Georgia, where she served as assistant principal and a basketball coach. In Jeffersonville, she met the love of her life, Roger (she was the love of his) and they married on December 26, 1954, and were married for 57 years before his death in 2011.
