Mary Louenna Pearson Taylor passed away on the evening of Friday, August 28, 2026, at the age of 95. A celebration of life service will be held at The Mitchell House on Sunday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m., officiated by the Reverend Dr. Benjamin Mack Hayes, in Dadeville, Alabama.

Born June 1, 1931 and raised in Dadeville, Mary was the fourth of six children born to Sarah Jane Vertis McGinty and John Ewell Pearson -  a bookkeeper, farmer, and mule trader, among other trades. Mary graduated in 1948 from Dadeville High School and then graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University. Mary earned her Master of Education degree in 1955.
