Mr. Mike Barnes

John Michael Barnes of Hillsboro, Kentucky passed away on December 19, 2021. He was born in Tallassee and raised in Dadeville, graduating from Dadeville High School in 1960. Mike graduated from Auburn University in 1964, and lived and worked for many years in Montgomery, Alabama. He later relocated to Kentucky, where he met Vivian and lived a pleasant, productive and blessed life there for many years as a school principal and later as the county electrical inspector. John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Vivian, whom he married March 11, 1988; one son, John Mark Barnes of Boston, Massachusetts and Alex City; one sister, Mary Anne Short of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Barnes of Carrollton, Mississippi, and Joyce Barnes of Hornbeck, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Mac Lee Barnes of Reeltown, and mother, Mary Barnes Boozer, of Tallassee, and by his brothers Mac Jr. and Rex. He will be buried in Kentucky.
