Residents around Nixburg and Coosa County had 18 million reasons to celebrate some good news this week when Central Alabama Wood Products announced a major investment in a new, high-tech sawmill which, when expanded, will double its production capacity of crossties.

The company feels there is gold in that sawdust, enough to warrant spending $18 million at the largest and oldest of its three sawmills in Alabama.
