Sweet Young’Uns still purveying timeless hits

Like the 1960s rock band The K-Otics, The Sweet Young’Uns have Tallassee roots but their chronology is pretty much the opposite from the band cited in last week’s column.

Over 50 years ago, The K-Otics fought the good fight across the country with The Swingin’ Medallions over competing versions over the legendary hit “Double Shot,” then went their separate ways later in the 1960s. A few years ago, they began reuniting for occasional gigs, such as the recent concert at the Mt. Vernon Theatre.
