Stanhope Elmore’s Kelvin Stokes has been coaching basketball for nearly 25 years. In that time, he’s won a state championship, had multiple former players go on to Division I careers and touched countless lives through teaching discipline via the game of basketball.

This season Stokes took the Mustangs through the season, winning 28 games while losing just five and reaching the AHSAA Class 6A Sweet 16. There, SEHS faced the 2025 Class 6A state champions, Park Crossing, losing 75-59. Park Crossing went on to finish as the runners-up in this season’s Class 6A state tournament.
