File/ TPI Edgewood Academy sealed its seat atop the area with a win over Trinity Christian on Jan. 26, 60-45. The Wildcats are guaranteed a spot in the AISA Class A playoffs Elite Eight at Garrett Coliseum on Feb. 11.

Edgewood Academy has a strong history of dominance on the basketball court, and this season, it's looking to get back to where it was two seasons ago. In 2023-24, the Wildcats won back-to-back AISA AA state championships. Last season, however, they fell in the first round of the playoffs. 

They returned some experience this season in Brock Whitt who is once again averaging over 10 points per game, as well as Thomas Justiss, Landon Smith and Ja’qub Anthony. Simeon Parker, Jacorian Bruce and Bobby Tillis were added to the varsity roster at the beginning of this season, and are all making an impact for the Wildcats.
