After wrapping its historic run to the state tournament this season, Holtville softball is closing one chapter and opening another. The Bulldogs will say goodbye to their coach, Reese Claybrook, as he moves on from the program while welcoming their new coach, Slade Holley. Holtville announced it was hiring Holley to the position of softball coach last week, after the Bulldogs lost on Day 1 of the state tournament in Oxford.

Holley began his tenure at Holtville two years ago, joining athletic director Cory Lee’s coaching staff as an assistant. Since then, Holley has been a staple in the athletic program. Despite not having an excess of experience in softball, he is confident he can help the Bulldogs continue the success of last season.
