Two ranked teams in their respective classification and a reigning state champ — that was the slate for the Holtville softball team this weekend at the Benjamin Russell Strike Out Cancer Tournament.

Ultimately, even with a loaded slate and four games over two days, the Bulldogs walked out with a 3-1 record. They beat Benjamin Russell, 8-5, Horseshoe Bend, 4-1, and Moody, 8-4 and fell 10-5 to Dadeville on Friday.
