You know it’s just another mid-April evening when the Wetumpka Indians are showcasing what it means to play all-around baseball. The Indians (19-7) have done it all season long, stacking up against some of the best competition in the state and proving just how integral baseball is to Elmore County in the springtime.

On Friday night, Wetumpka sailed past county rival, the Holtville Bulldogs, in a 9-0 shutout. The win came with a healthy serving of the Indians’ specialty: their elite pitching, plus a sense of practiced confidence both in the field and at the plate.
